Ray and Patty McConnell

Ray and Patty are the Founders and Directors of Shoulder To Shoulder Ministries, Inc.  They have been in fulltime mission’s work since 1994.  Their diverse background in management and Ray’s Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Counseling have helped to prepare them for the multifaceted needs of a growing mission’s organization.

Thailand is Ray and Patty’s third overseas nation in which they have lived.  Through their short term work they have also ministered in a number of countries in Asia and Europe.

Through their roles on the Leadership Team Ray and Patty assist in providing general supervision to the overall work of the mission and provide training and staff development to the S2S team.  Their work extends to other mission’s organizations, both in

Thailand and other countries, through Missionary Care and Development.

Mark and Alisa Langley

Mark and Alisa have been full-time volunteers with S2S since August of 2001.

As S2S Thailand Manager, Mark oversees staff, performs administrative duties, and coordinates S2S programs. He also heads the Community Development Evangelism program and works alongside our national volunteers in HIV Ministries, Hunger Relief, and Youth Scholarship/Discipleship.

Mark’s past experience includes managing a pediatric nursing unit, and with both Mark & Alisa’s prior work at a Children’s Home, and Bachelor degrees in both Biblical Studies/Theology and Nursing, they feel God prepared them well for this current work.  Mark and Alisa are key members of the S2S Leadership Team.

Brinson and Andrew are their two “miracle babies”. Brinson was adopted from China in February of 2005 and Andrew was born in Chiang Rai in June of 2005.

Burt and Teresa Nightingale

Burt and Teresa have been associated with S2S Ministries since January 2000.  Their work with S2S began with Teresa as a Board Member and in 2003 relocating to Thailand as full time staff members.

Burt’s education includes being a Bible College graduate and Teresa holds a Law Degree.  Burt’s experience includes working many years in a bi-vocational role, successfully balancing his energies as a thriving business man and a dedicated church pastor.  Teresa’s experience includes church-based ministry to children and young people.  Professionally Teresa aggressively cared for the rights of children during her time as a Prosecutor and she later managed her own private law practice.

Burt and Teresa have been great contributors to the current form and direction of the ministry programs of S2S.  They have invested time, talent, and their very hearts into the work and people of Thailand.

Burt and Teresa are currently on Medical Leave in the States.  Please join with us and the many that love them in prayer for healing, restoration and the Lord’s direction for their lives.

Ladawan (Tui)

Tui came on board with S2S in April 2006.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from MaeFahLuang University.

Tui is the first in her family to leave the tight grip of the Thai Buddhist religion and genuinely find the joy of becoming a Christian.

Tui’s experience includes assisting teams in the relief effort for the disastrous Tsunami of December 2004, volunteer nurse assistant, and the leader of the local university Christian club.

Tui’s translations skills are valuable to the team and she is active in virtually all of our ministry programs.  She leads by example and is quick to get involved in many activities.  Her passionate desire to minister to people of Thailand is evident to all.  Tui is truly a lover of God and a lover of people.

Palita (Mind)

Mind joined the S2S family in April 2006.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from MaeFahLuangUniversity, graduating at the top of her class.  Mind immigrated as a very young child, along with her family, from Burma.  She is from the Akha Hill Tribe.  Mind spent most of her childhood growing up in a Christian children’s home.

Mind participated in assisting teams in the relief effort for the disastrous Tsunami of December 2004.  Mind also completed a

Discipleship Training School with Youth With A Mission in Montana.  The experience included an outreach to Uganda.

Mind, with her language skills in Akha, Thai, and English is an excellent communicator.  Mind is active in nearly every facet of the work of S2S revealing her heart of the needy of Thailand.  Mind is a bright young woman who loves to learn, loves to grow and loves to share with others the Truth she has discovered.

      Alina

Alina began her internship with S2S in May 2007 and is now a fulltime staff member.  Alina is from the Akha Hill Tribe. Her home village is located at the top of a steep, rugged mountain called Doi Chaang (ElephantMountain) where coffee is grown.

Alina holds a Bachelor’s degree in General Management from  RajaphatUniversity.  Her experience includes administrative duties, tourism and working for a Thai foundation involved in finding healthy alternatives for those previously involved in illegal drug activity.

Alina is an integral part of our Youth Scholarship/Discipleship program.  The girls in our program are also Akha and Alina is an excellent role model, encourager, and a teacher of both practical skills and heart discipleship.  Alina has a gentle and kind personality and her love and passion for the young people of Thailand is evident.

George Nightingale

George joined the S2S Team as USA Financial Administrator in 2004.  George does an incredible work States-side providing oversight and much needed financial administrative work. As a non-profit and tax exempt USA corporation, financial accountability to the government, as well as to our supporters, is imperative.  George meets those requirements with diligence and professionalism.

George not only brings the diversity of his business background to S2S but also his many faithful years of ministry in his local church, and acts of kindness and ministry that are hidden from all eyes but the Lord’s.

George however provides much more than an administrative role.  Although George has not yet been to Thailand, his faithful prayers and his words of encouragement provide a much needed blessing to the work in Thailand.

 Soi (Yaai - Grandmother)

Yaai is an honorary staff member with S2S Ministries.  Yaai is Tui’s mother.  As mentioned in Tui’s bio above, Tui was the first in her family to become a Christian – Yaai was second!

The S2S community has many young people living apart from the familiarity of their villages.  Yaai has indeed become a grandmother to each one of them.  Her open home, not to mention her open kitchen, gives tangible expression of her open heart and her love for our discipleship students.

It has been a blessing for all to watch a woman who was a Buddhist for over 50 years, to discover the Lord’s love and grace for herself, and to quickly share that love with many.  Yaai also often travels to the homes of the HIV families to offer encouragement and prayers as the good news is shared.

Yaai has brought a joy and warmth that have helped S2S have a much needed sense of family.
